It was 6pm on a Thursday and though we were guaranteed a dry and fresh evening, it hadn't stopped pouring! Mark and I were relaxing talking over the golf rankings, waiting for the 8th fuel drain for the day to come in. Before long we got the phone call from a lovely women on a company excursion who had arrived at the Esso filling station in Llanrwst and filled the wrong fuel in her diesel abused Kia Rio5 rental car in error. The unfortunate lady was rather troubled apparently, telling me "I still cannot believe that I've messed up the vehicle! I am just so used to filling up my petrol car I completely did not remember I was operating a diesel!" I instructed her to take it easy and not to fret, and that such things happen. She had managed to maneuver the car to a protected space and, seeing that it was no more than a few miles off from the office, we were able to find the woman fairly quickly. The contaminated fuel was cleaned up and removed so she was able to return to the Travelodge she was lodging at. Despite the fact that we got extremely soaked, it was all worthwhile to see her drive off satisfied and not so worried. A fuel drain in Conwy done well in my books!

I am reminded of a story in a newspaper last year and this particular story was much the same.
